Our Story
Firepower started with a complaint: most hot sauce in Thailand is dessert. Sugar water with a chili on the label, or one-note vinegar that just stings, or doesn't. We wanted heat that actually tastes like something — so we started making it ourselves. Small batches, by hand, in Bangkok.
Everything gets roasted or smoked. Everything.
It's the rule we never break. Every Firepower sauce has at least one ingredient that's been roasted, smoked, or both — peppers, onions, garlic, tomatoes, even pineapple over cherry wood. Raw chili and vinegar is easy. Roasting and smoking is slower and smokier, and it's the reason our sauces taste like food instead of a fire alarm.
We source super hot chilies that shouldn't grow here.
Thailand is a brutal place to grow super hots. March to May it's too hot for the plants to fruit at all. Rainy season brings flooding and fungus. And fruit flies lay their eggs inside the pods — so every single pepper gets its own tea bag, hand-tied, to keep them out.
We use locally grown super hots, like Habanero, Ghost, Carolina Reapers, and native Thai chili peppers sourced from local markets. Our super hots come from Mae Hong Son, Nan, Phichit and Phetchabun, and we grow what we can ourselves. It's a lot of work for one small bottle. That's the point.
Heat tolerance is a skill, so we built the lineup like a ladder. Flame 1 is a genuine warm-up — smoky and balanced, but with real presence. Flame 5 is the Smoky Reaper, our limited flagship, for chili-heads who've earned it.
Beginners taste mostly heat at the top of the ladder; trained palates taste everything. High heat doesn't mean lost flavor — that's a beginner's myth, and we're happy to correct it one bottle at a time. Start where you're comfortable. Climb when you're ready.
Small batch, by necessity and by choice.
We make sauce in small runs and label the bottles by hand. It keeps quality tight and the numbers honest — when we say the Smoky Reaper is 65 bottles a batch, that's the real count, not a marketing round-up. You're not buying off a production line. You're buying something we made this month.
Six sauces, three bundles, one rule. Start mild or jump in deep — just don't expect sugar water.
Real heat. Real flavor. Work your way up.
